Downtown Detroit BIZ Events

The Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone (BIZ) builds on its core mission to cultivate a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all by leveraging the collective resources of property owners, the City of Detroit and other stakeholders. The BIZ hosts events to bring together BIZ businesses, organizations, and the community to tell the story of Downtown Detroit.

BIZ Annual Meeting

The BIZ is a special assessed public district that received a voter approval in 2014 by owners of assessable properties within the Downtown and the Annual Meeting (held during the October 25 Board of Directors meeting) is a time for them to see their investment at work. The following program updates are made: BIZ Ambassadors, Small Business Engagement, Downtown Detroit Datascape, etc.

BIZ Connect

The Downtown Detroit BIZ gathers the business community for exclusive opportunities to learn from and network with peers. These events are also a place where the community can hear from key leaders and organizations from the city, county, and state.

Business Roundtables

Business Roundtables are opportunities to gather first-hand feedback from a select group of business professionals and merchants (i.e. restaurants, retailers, the clergy). Feedback is critical so the BIZ can best apply its resources to help address problems, challenges and issues facing our Downtown establishments. For more information, contact Kitty Whitfield.
